Supporting Leffell: FAQ

List of 9 items.

  • Does my tax-deductible gift really make a difference?

Money raised provides critical resources to:
    • Recruit and retain talented educators
    • Improve and expand student services
    • Offer academic, artistic, and athletic enrichment opportunities
    • Maintain and improve facilities on both campuses
    • Respond to the growing need for tuition assistance
    • Keep tuition increases to a minimum
    • Support Lev v’Nefesh, the twelfth-grade Poland and Israel Experience
  • How is the money used?

Donations to the Leffell School Annual Fund meet the ever-increasing costs of our day school education. The fund helps to close the gap between tuition income and the actual costs.
  • How much do people usually give?

The common thread among our donors is not the size of their gifts, but rather that each has made a conscious decision to support the Leffell School Annual Fund in a manner commensurate with their capacity to give. Your contribution of any size represents an important vote of confidence in the mission of our school.
  • How will my donation impact the Leffell School students?

Your contribution touches the lives of all students on both campuses. Our student-faculty ratio, the experience and quality of the educators we hire, our painstakingly maintained and improved facilities — all these are directly impacted by the Leffell School Annual Fund.

The Leffell School Annual Fund also enables The Leffell School to provide tuition assistance to students who would otherwise not be able to afford a Leffell School education.
  • What about support from Jewish philanthropists who are active on the national or international level, corporations, and foundations?

We receive support from a variety of foundations outside of our Leffell School community and aggressively research and pursue new opportuni- ties for grants. However, our success in receiving these highly competitive grants is directly correlated to the commitment of our community as measured through participation in the Leffell School Annual Fund.
  • What is the Leffell School Annual Fund?

The Leffell School Annual Fund is the annual fundraising campaign for The Leffell School; this initiative directly supports our day-to-day operating expenses.
  • What is the relationship between the Leffell School Annual Fund, the spring Annual Fundraiser, and the commemorative journal paying tribute to our honorees?

The spring event is an opportunity for our community to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year. Your gift to the Leffell School Annual Fund entitles you to a complimentary ad in our commemorative journal reflecting your giving level.

  • Why should I support the Leffell School Annual Fund?

The Leffell School provides the best of all worlds — an excellent general and Judaic education complete with a teaching faculty of the highest standard, within a warm, embracing environment. Support of the fund is an endorsement of the tremendous impact that a day school education has on our own students and the community at large. Your contribution sends an important message to others in the Leffell School community: we are all in this together. We ask each of you to participate in this community endeavor, and to make the Leffell School Annual Fund the top priority of your tzedakah budget.
