Sara Cohn
Sixth-Grade Dean
Sara Cohn has been the sixth-grade dean at the Leffell Middle School since 2020. Born and raised in Queens, Sara attended Jewish day schools as a student and has held teaching and administrative positions in various Jewish day schools over the past 15 years. Before coming to Leffell, she was the director of student support at Beit Rabban Day School in New York City. Prior to that, she taught in special education and general education settings in both public schools and Jewish day schools in New York City and Boston. Ms. Cohn holds a master’s degree in childhood special and general education from Bank Street College of Education and a master’s degree in social work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She is passionate about social-emotional learning and learning through the arts, and brings a passion for music and singing to this role. Ms. Cohn loves being part of the Leffell community, both as a faculty member, and as a parent of a Lower School student. She especially loves creating a safe space for students and supporting their ability to thrive in Middle School. Sara lives in White Plains with her husband, their two children, and their dog.
