I am a reporter at Bloomberg News and The New York Times bestselling author of three books including the upcoming Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment (out October 8). Previously, I’ve worked for WIRED and Kotaku and my writing has been published at outlets ranging from The New York Times to The Onion.
The first seeds of my reporting career were planted during my teenage years at Solomon Schechter (now The Leffell School), where I joined The Lion’s Roar as a writer and editor. I fell in love with journalism when the newspaper staff attended Columbia University’s annual spring conference, where high school students from around the country convened to take classes, swap stories, and learn how much coffee it takes to have a successful career in media. At school, there was nothing quite like publication day — when the hallways were full of people unfolding the paper, ink staining their hands, as you wondered if they were reading something you had written (and hoped they’d make it past the first paragraph). It’s a feeling that I still carry with me today.
