Rena Rosen
Middle School Assistant Principal
Rena Sichel Rosen is Middle School assistant principal. In addition, she oversees Derech l'Lev, the eighth-grade Israel experience. Ms. Rosen brings more than 20 years of experience working with children and young adults of all ages, not only in the classroom, but in less formal, more experiential settings as well. Her career has been guided by her love of Judaism and Israel, her inspiration from the world around us, and her belief that meaningful learning can happen in many different settings. Before joining The Leffell School (then Schechter Westchester), Ms. Rosen worked for nearly a decade at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack as a division head and as part of the senior programming and leadership team. In this role she supervised and organized daily camp activities and programs for her campers, in addition to acting as an advisor and mentor to a staff of young adults. Previously, Ms. Rosen served as the director of youth education at the Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy (LESJC), director of education at LANDMARK WEST!, a non-profit community group on Manhattan's Upper West Side, as an adjunct professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and as a tour guide, leading neighborhood walking tours throughout Manhattan for children and adults. Ms. Rosen holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MS in historic preservation from Columbia University. She is a candidate for an MA in Israel Education, as part of the iCenter Graduate Program at The George Washington University.
